Gateway to CM

In India, especially in South India, ipso facto, every actor want to become a CM and most of the heroes does have a reasonable suppport (I am writing this BLOG listening to the songs of STALIN).

Does these actors really have care for their community or do the people really believe them. Last in first out. Do people believe in them? yes. In most of the political parties, people has lost faith, they believe in these actors based on their stunts in the films? Do they really do what they say only God knows. In Tamilnadu, MGR period had worst corruption, but still people believe it is golden period. I don't blame MGR for that or any other leader in politics. I blame the people, in demo"CRAZY" we create our own fate. Did people elect any one based on their qualities. No, is he your caste, is he your religion,is he your favorite hero or the worst case "NOT TO VOTE". No political parties have the faith of the people. But in the objective type question we have been cursed to select one. With these people, who have lost their hope, there are some business man who sow hopes and harvest the benefits and for some the hopes are automatically seeded.

1. Rajinikanth - Like in cinema climax, people look for a mega change, so like in cinema people expect Rajni to change everything as he do in cinema. Rajini knows real world is not celluloid world. But who cares, stupid people bugging him to enter politics even it is not his wish. Poor them, they have no other choice. Because as per cinema, only heroes can do miracle.

2. Vijaykanth - Though he is not a mass hero, I (most of us) like his courage to stand alone in election.

3. Vijay Ajith or any other - I don't want to comment about them. First let them grow, it is too early for them to start politics. There are some worst cases where heroes with just 2 - 3 hits starting MASS heroism. Come on give me a break kid. Have some cerelac, you have long way to go.

I don't want to argue that actors does not have right to contest. I want to discourage them not to use media image to their benefits. People should think before they cast their vote, does he do good to society and forget about whether he is a actor or part of big party or part of your caste. Easy to say, will we follow, definitely not now. Let us look the future with some belief, sometimes belief is the only thing we have. I heard that if we don't like any candidates we can choose to disregard all of them, but there is no provision in EVM for that, will the political parties agree to that. No Kidding. First let them agree to 33% reservation and stop people with criminal background to stop contesting.

Good take on this issue. But it does not have to do with the actor.
It has to do with us. Namma makkalukku cinemakkaaran-na irukkara craze innum koraiyala. I think he is just using that. Getting deceived willingly is much worse than deceiving. And the normal politicians are also not so great either. Their previous profession is either a rowdy or a political goonda. So by that count, he might have a better profession than some of his peers.

Why do you have to discourage actors using their media image ? Isn't it their right to use their strength ?

Why do you want 33% reservation for women ?

Siva,

For some Political parties strength is violence for some it is money. Is it right to use violence or money to get people support or vote even it is their strength. Making use of celluloid image in real life is forgery.

Reservation is a different topic. Any particular group which is suppressed by race, sex or religion etc., requires appropriate concession during intial phase which give them a platform to come up. With out that a dominant society will not allow a suppressed group to grow. That is the reality. Thanks for raising it, it is another subject but worth discussing it, I will post a blog and we will discuss it further

Senthil,

Adding to your comment, one other thing for people confidence in actors is that people believe that actors have already earned money so their entry in to politics is not for money.

It is not ethical to use money. It is against the law to use violence (and money). Nothing prevents you from using your image. In fact elections are all about image. If it is not celluloid image then it is abut your real life image, which some have carefully built over their entire lifetime (like the US politicians, like rahul gandhi is trying now)

The problem is different. The voters are poorly informed which is the root cause of all the trouble. But instead of making the voters informed, we are trying to treat the symptoms, like asking people not to use image.

I will look forward for the post on reservation. I do support reservation but with some reservation :-). I don't support theis 33% joke.
